Our exploration of Acadia National Park in early October included scaling five mountains, walking along the rocky ocean shore in fog and sun, kayaking in Eagle Lake (and surprising two eagles perched above the shoreline), and bicycling and walking along the 40+ miles of carriage roads developed by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. in the early 1900’s. We also found the opportunity to taste a few different ice cream flavors at two different shops in Bar Harbor. While we had a relatively long stay, lasting eight nights, we’ve already begun a list of activities we intend to accomplish in a return visit to Acadia NP, hopefully in 2021.
